Are you going to buy a COLORED KINDLE??

I guess the question is: Do we really need a colored screen in reading THE GIRL WITH A DRAGON TATTOO? Not Unless Amazon would make something like “Kindle: Kids Edition”, since kids really need fancy images to make them read a book. I am pretty much satisfied with the Kindle 3 and the new generation upgrades. With 50% more contrast, Kindle 3 already made an impression. As what Jeff Bezos mentioned in an interview: “Reading would be different and less enjoyable if the Kindle would be in color, since it uses e-ink technology, and I must say I agree. Consumers who think of a color display Kindle are those who would prefer to use their Kindle more on accessing the web than reading books. Maybe they shouldn't buy the Kindle and buy an IPad or a smart phone instead! A colored display is not necessary for Kindle to fulfill its purpose. Surely cost of purchase would increase and the free 3G would possibly not be free as the data usage would increase, when downloading Books and magazines in color.

Some people seem to have a similar issue with the Kindles lack of a touchscreen and you have surly seen something like “NOT TOUCHSCREEN” in the cons side of Kindle reviews. Well touchscreen is fine, but I am not sure if I want to add glare and greasy finger marks on my Kindle?? I think I could live without the touchscreen. Amazon points out that the Kindle is not a “me too” project. So colored screen and touchscreen is maybe not for the Kindle as it should be used for its purpose as a E-Book Reader.
